Mena Alexandra (born on the 13th of February 1979) is an actress and model from the US. After a brief period as a model in the fashion industry her career quickly shifted to acting when she appeared in guest roles on television shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s, and High Incident. Her first film appearance was on 1997's thriller Nowhere. The performances she made as a character in American Beauty, for which she received an BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie made her the focus of a wider attention. Since then she appeared with Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) along with her American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and was later the main character in the comedy Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun the 2002 independent drama film and Trauma (2004) thriller were also featured in her career. In 2004, she appeared in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2005 as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. Suvari was also featured in Day of the Dead, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film version of The Garden of Eden. Suvari was featured in numerous magazine and blog posts, including Vogue. She is also a Lancome model who appears in ads in print for Lancome Paris Adaptive. She is a long-time supporter and a defender of the highly regarded African relief group, the African Medical and Research Foundation.
