
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most recognizable character was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988), for which he was awarded five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series, winning in 1985. Since 2010, Selleck has been co-starring in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine TV films made based on the Robert B. Parker novels, he played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chief, beginning in 2005. Selleck also played the role as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and A Little Lady(1990). Since Magnum, P.I., the actor has appeared in more than 50 roles on TV and film, including films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter, baseball. He appeared in recurring television characters as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends as well as Lance White, the likeable and unassuming partner on The Rockford Files, and as the casino's owner A.J.
